typically I do not participate in ART fairs/festivals/events, they are cost prohibitive - 'gambling on the weather'. Last year, my piece UNFORGETTABLE FIRE was mostly 'forgettable' - my 'MEDIUM' is SOLAR DEPENDENT, and though incredibly simple 'the performance' is mesmerizing. I liken it to 'moths around a light'; except during the day - WEATHER PERMITTING. My piece last year was rigid and perpendicular, to large to manipulate; restricted to about 5hrs of light max, on a good day. This years piece, "FOOTPRINTS on a SMALL FRAGILE PLANET" will be mobile/flexible/adaptable and will feature primarily a 'floating island'. Intended to encourage interaction, and SIMPLE 'out-of-the-box' demonstrations. I have an 'art bicycle' (pictured above), have been a Key West character/fixture for most of 20yrs. The 'island' will be towable with human propelled vehicle, and capable of presenting itself EQUALLY WELL after sunset, though LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS will CEASE!!!
