ArtPrize Nine is coming up and we are excited to open registration for Artist Week. Each day of professional development programming has a different theme and multiple sessions.  ArtPrize artists are invited to sign up for a day pass or reserve a spot for individual sessions. Sessions are first-come, first-served - so make sure you sign up!

9.17: ArtPrize Nine Artist Kick-Off Party - No Registration Required

Join us on Sunday, September 17 from 7 p.m. at The B.O.B. for our annual ArtPrize Artist Kick-Off Party & Open House, sponsored by the Gilmore Collection. You and a guest will enjoy live music and  delicious hors d’oeuvres, and dance the night away as we celebrate you.

9.18: The Law: Legal Issues for Creative Practitioners

Don’t miss this event with Creative Many’s Lawyers for the Creative Economy on Monday, September 18 from 1-4 p.m. at the ArtPrize Clubhouse. Their volunteer attorneys will present three different sessions covering content useful for creative practitioners like you, at every experience level. There’ll be plenty of time for attendees to ask questions during this interactive afternoon.

9.19: Creative Engagement: The Public Sphere for Creative Practitioners

On the eve of ArtPrize Nine, Creative Many will present a series of afternoon discussions exploring the role of creative practitioners in the public sphere. From protest and resistance art to strategies for advancing legislative agendas, experts and artists will discuss some of the different ways artists influence the public discourse. Join us on Tuesday, September 19 from 1-4 p.m. at the ArtPrize Clubhouse.

9.20: ArtPrize Nine Opening Day - Open to the Public 

ArtPrize Nine voting officially kicks off on Wednesday, September 20 at Noon. Head downtown to Rosa Parks Circle at 6:30 p.m. for the ArtPrize Nine Opening Ceremony -- including remarks from Todd Herring, ArtPrize Director of Creative and Communications; a performance by the GVSU Laker Marching Band and Dance Company.

9.21: Space: Real Estate Issues for Creative Practitioners

Join Creative Many on Thursday, September 21 from 1-4 p.m. at the ArtPrize Clubhouse for an engaging afternoon of conversation about the practical issues that arise when creative practitioners interface with the real estate market. The discussions will feature a variety of perspectives, and include space to imagine and explore alternative solutions to some of the disconnects between real estate conventions and the need for creative spaces.

9.21: Bombay Sapphire Artist Reception 

Bombay Sapphire invites you to celebrate Artist Week at ArtPrize Nine — kick off the first week of the festival and enjoy an evening of great conversation and signature cocktails mixed by the experts at Bombay Sapphire.

Guests must be 21 years of age or older. Valid photo ID is required for entry.

9.22: Harmony: Community-Building and the Music Industry

Creative Many and WYCE will present three discussions about music as a necessary enhancement to the quality of life in Michigan's communities. Join us on Friday, September 22 from 1-4 p.m. at the ArtPrize Clubhouse.
