Banana Split

Decadent, tempting foods bombard us today in our American society. My work explores the psychological reactions we have when seeing food imagery, specifically "unhealthy" foods. These paintings are purposely created on a larger-than-life scale and brightly colored to emphasize our problems with both portion control and also self control in rejecting certain foods we love. While alluring or beautiful, they also become obnoxious and grotesque.
