Flora Metamorphicae 2012

Flora Metamorphicae

Producing one unified work, by group of artist is uncommon in the art field but in the case of Norwegian group of ceramists it becoame a joy of creativity resulting in realization of large art installation. Prodused by 6 female artist all graduated from Bergen National Academy of the Arts each adding her share into one body of work. It is a good example of collective art making prosess in creation of modular sculpture, composed from 4000 clay flowers, the work can be presented in many site-specific locations, looking different in each setting. The subject of nature`s diversity was a perfect choice in stitching individual expressions into one collective artwork which became a product of intense collaboration. A selection of colorful flowers assambled on the gallery floor, forming sea of animated nature. Statement by Marek Cecula Professor The National Academy of the Arts, in Bergen, Norway
