Description of work: Remember: Replay: Repeat is a series of four miniature video installations projected into acrylic constructions and sequential still images offering representations of memory, time and duration.
A passage from Roland Barthes Camera Lucida has provided inspiration:
"Photographs as ghostly apparitions reanimated in reproductive mediums...melancholic and longing for an unrecuperable past.”
All memory is longing and loss replaying in an endless loop.The looping video projections of 8mm found footage, and sequential stills presented in the artwork are a momento mori...an elegiac chant of life suspended for a perfect moment. Translucent apparitions appear in found video loops, converging with static images and reflective mirrors of repetitive images...leaving only traces of life without a future.
