Allen Backstrom

Artist bio

Allen is a lifelong area resident. He has spent the majority of his professional life in woodworking. He has worked for several area companies as a woodworking production supervisor.
During the last few years he has also been very active in stained glass art. He has participated and won prizes as well as the peoples choice award in juried art competitions through Delphi Art Glass. He both designs and crafts his stained glass and woodworking designs.

Description of work: This piece contains a 3D depiction of more than 100 butterflies of various sizes and colors in mid-flight. The piece is encased in a handcrafted wooden frame. I am currently working on a free standing pedestal from which the piece will be hung.
