Artist bio

This is my second time entering Art Prize! Last years "Michigan in Glass" was the largest glass project I've ever created. This years will be similar but with new some new funky techniques. As a born artist I have dabbled in many art forms~mostly painting of anything on anything~Mosaics which started my love of glass where I took my first lampworking class at Fredrick Meijer Gardens in 2003 and haven't looked back since. I established our Bead & Jewelry Business: We Bead the Twisted Sisters with my sister Rachelle. I do Custom Sculpture beads of whatever the customer can dream up. I soon began working with my Kiln to created "Funky Fused Cabs" using my Beads..very fun!! Daily I think of new exciting ways to create art that makes others smile:) It is truly my passion!
Renee:)

Description of work: ***I AM SORRY TO SAY I WILL NOT BE EXHIBITING IN THIS YEARS ART PRIZE:( ***Please lOOk for my "USA in Glass next year...It WILL be AWESOME!!!
Sorry Renee:)

"USA in Glass" will be similar to my last years creation "Great Lakes State in Glass" which was a Glass Collage with towns & regions being represented, but this 2011 piece will feature the importance of recycling and my obcession of being a "garbage picker, dumpster diver, & extreem yardsaler" attempting to use others "junk" as my treasure it will also feature stained glass, glass pieces from dishes etc., stones & minerals, ceramics, found objects such as toys & knick~knacks and of course my HANDMADE LAMPWORK Sculpture BEADS & Funky Fused Art. I will also be using Glass Paint, Epoxy and possibly a Shattered layered Glass Panel technique giving a unique beautiful reflection that only glass can create:)
It should be stunning!!!
