Artist bio I live in Grand Rapids with my husband and our two children. I first saw Alphabet Photography when I was home on maternity leave. I love photography. I thought, I can do that. I am going to do that. Once I saw my first letter, then letters appeared every where, it was as if I had put on glasses for the first time. I took my camera every where I went and before I knew it, I had pictures of the whole alphabet. My friends saw a sign hanging at our bar. When they found out I had made it and had taken the pictures myself, immediately they started telling me: “Your photographs are great!” Now two years later, my hobby has turned into Click & Create Alphabet Photography. I did Art Prize last year and enjoyed every minute. The exposure and people I meet was overwhelming. My entry this year showcases the Downtown Districts. Each sign features letters taken in their district. You can see how each district has it's own charactrer. Pick one or showcase them all, Venue's choice.

Description of work: I captured the different landmarks and architecture that represents the unique culture of each of the four downtown "Districts". Hillside(first), CenterCity (second), Heartside (third), Westside (fourth). I have captured the illusion of letters in each of the district's architecture and landscape. There is a landmark that encompasses the identity of each district. The signs begin with a colored photograph of the landmark that represents the district. The photographs of the letters that spell out the district name are taken within each unique district. Enjoy the four signs spelled out in Alphabet Photography ~ Hillside, CenterCity, Heartside and Westside. Discover the landmark for each district. Explore the architecture of each district. See the word within each sign.
