Description of work: What I like to do is to make new and fresh furniture designs that tell a story. I do this by arranging end grain crosscuts in a book-matched pattern. This creates a mosaic that shows all the beauty hidden in the growth rings of these awesome trees, which clean our air and cool our earth. My 2011 entry is a desk that sets on spider-like legs. Worms and insects have deteriorated the domestic maple, end grain used for the outside edge detail.
