Richard Burns

Artist bio

BFA and MFA sculpture UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN -1975-1977 I construct kinetic forms of art that move in response to the wind or human interaction.
About the work
Title: Dancing Flagpoles

Art form: 3-D

Medium: Steel, stainless steel, aluminum tube

Year created: Work not created yet

Description of work: Dynamic balancing flagpoles that react to the wind -flags flying as they move through space.
The world is in motion at a micro and macro level. My focus for sculpture is to create objects that move in response to human touching or wind. Sculpture, in my view, should be alive and moving in tune with it's environment, not a static unmoving form.

Height: 28 feet
Width: 11 feet
Depth: 2 feet
