Description of work: Todd and Brad Reed each photographed an image every day of 2010 as part of "Todd & Brad Reed's 365 Project." The project started as a way for Todd and Brad to re-focus their vision and become one with their cameras again. The project led to 730 new photos, a hard cover limited edition book, calendar, and DVD.
We wanted to incorporate the project into our ArtPrize entry using all 730 photos from the project. We came up with a mosaic that uses 726 of the Project's photos, with the mosaic making up one of the photos and the "365" at the bottom of the image using the remaining three photos. The final piece is printed on canvas and measures 15 ft x 10 ft. Each photo measures approximately 5 in x 5 in. To fully appreciate our piece, it needs to be viewed at two distances, one far away so the viewer can appreciate the image the mosaic creates and a closer one so the viewer can see the details in each individual photograph. |
