Sheree Lincoln

Artist bio

Sheree painted her first Watercolor in 1976 while an Art Major at Greenwich High School in Connecticut. She saved the painting as a reminder that sometimes just letting the art be whatever it wants to become is the very best thing. New York School of Interior Design in New York City was her first serious adventure in visual concept studies.

She returned to her native Fremont, Michigan to raise a family in 1985. In 2004 she went back to college for Web & Graphic Design creating websites from an artist's perspective for her company BrassWind Designs. Sheree is a co-founder of the Lake Michigan Art Walk and favors painting with Golden's fluid acrylics vividly capturing "Art on The Run".

Collaborator, Becky Jansma of Jansma Friesians enjoys raising Friesian Horses known for their shining black beauty, luxuriant manes, tails and feathering. She and her husband, Violin Maker Tim Jansma of the Jansma Violin Shoppe, offer string instruments to those who share another passion -- music
About the work
Title: Art On The Run

Art form: 2-D

Medium: Painting & Photography

Year created: Work not created yet

Description of work: This artist has a passion for quick, vibrant brush strokes of color creating creatures happily on the run. Art on The Run features dogs and horses, running with ears, feet, manes and tails flying.

Since 2001 Sheree has been developing a painting style involving fluid acrylic on watercolor paper. Sheree started by experimenting with Oriental Brush Painting, a fast, minimalist style which allows one to appreciate, and develop, a "less is more" approach.

Sheree will be photographing her Shih Tsu, Sophie, a friends long haired Daschunds and the Jansma Friesian's. The horses and dogs will be running, manes and tails flowing. There will be companion paintings created from the imagery of these creatures in flight. The display will create a shape of its own and "run" around an architectural column in the atrium outside Cafe Stella at Rivertown Center. (Stella is a Blue Heeler, how great is that!)
