About the work
Title: Seen and Unseen

Art form: 2-D

Medium: Oil

Year created: 2011

Description of work: As an artist, one of my main goals is to paint what is unseen, the feeling of a place rather than a representation of it. This piece is made up of four paintings, each representing a season, which create one unified landscape when placed side by side. There is a transparent veil of trees in the foreground which give an abstract element to the piece. My goal was to create a unique sense of place using color, shape and texture. As with all of my work, if the viewer finds some peace and a place for their soul to wander, then I have accomplished my task.
