Corey Van Duinen

Artist bio

I was a Kendall College of Art and Design attendee with a fine arts/sculpture focus who has been hiding out in the furniture design arena for the past 17 years.
Former owner and operator of " Moonshadow Home Designs" an artfully altered antique store and gallery which was located in the downtown area of Grand Rapids. I created mostly functional pieces of art for homes and businesses all over the state.
The highlight of my career thus far was being a collaborator for "Imagine That" which took second place in the 2009 ArtPrize inaugural event and is currently still decorating the front of the Grand Rapids Children's Museum.

Description of work: "And a child will lead them" is a extension of my "Imagine That" vision of having the community be a part of creating art together. This piece will showcase 10 or so of local artists creations and over 75 pieces supplied and design by me but painted and decorated by kids and community members from all over Michigan. Each 2-D child figure will encompass all different ethnic back rounds showing that we shine as individuals but together we can create something wonderful.
