ArtPrize Jukebox

Artist bio

It is a dynamic interaction when ever Dutch painter, Tali Farchi vd. Wouden and painter, Royce Deans from the USA are working together. Their individual cultures and experiences mix so that their unique way of working results in new and informed works of art. A common thread that runs through their work, is how they incorporate music and it’s overriding influence and inspiration.

The duo has been working together since 2006 on multi media, and multi disciplined projects including Mo(ve)ment, The Mo(ve)ment Effect and Art Without Boundaries. Early in 2010 they actively started developing The Colorboration Project, since that time they have presented similar projects in Zwolle, The Netherlands; Tel Aviv, Israel and Chicago. The Colorboration Project has been presented to more than 2000 people.

Description of work: This project is a collaboration of the US painter, Royce Deans from Michigan and the Dutch/Israeli painter, Tali Farchi-vd Wouden. Our work historically is based in the symbiotic relationship that exists between the disciplines of painting and music. This project will consist of setting up our collaborative studio as an installation that will be a constant work in progress, where the public will come face to face with the creative process of our paintings. Visitors will be asked to plug their iPods into an amplifier for all to hear as we create paintings inspired by the music of their choosing. We welcome music from classical to hip-hop and jazz to rock. During the several painting sessions we will hold per day, 4' X 4' paintings will be created as an amalgamation of all the songs played over the period of about an hour. The collection of paintings that will grow as ArtPrize continues.
