Artist bio

This winter I've been entranced by the work of Alphonse Mucha (1860--1939) an artist whose work was critically responsible for the Art Nouveau movement. Of course, Mucha was a painter, not a blacksmith, and what can be done naturally in one medium may be quite impossible in another; but due to its structural integrity, as well as its extremely broad spectrum of manipulation, iron is the most versatile of all three-dimensional media, and consequently it may contribute a great deal to any form.
In this pursuit, I have been working on a series of mirrors. Some are all iron; some are iron and copper; some have stained glass in addition to the mirror. The goal of each is to capture natural, feminine beauty in a contemporary interpretation of the century-old Art Nouveau.
