**Registration for ArtPrize 2011 is closed.

ArtPrize® is organized very differently from any other event.

  • ArtPrize organizers do not choose artists, venues choose artists
  • Any space in downtown Grand Rapids can register to be a venue
  • Artists must secure a venue to participate in the event

Before an entry arrives for ArtPrize®, there are two important steps an artist must complete.

Step One - Register (opens April 23, 2012)

1. Sign up for an account on artprize.org
2. Fill out your artist profile
3. Complete a proposal for your entry
4. Upload images for your proposed entry
5. Pay the $50 registration fee (non-refundable)

You are not visible to venues and you cannot see their contact information until Step One is complete. You must complete registration by 5:00 p.m. EDT, May 24, 2012

notice

Venues are planning exhibitions now.
The best way to get a venue is to register early.

Step Two - Secure a venue (opens April 23, 2012)

1. Find venues on artprize.org you want to host your work
2. Click "Connect with venue" (available when Artist Registration opens on April 23, 2012)
3. The venue is notified you are interested in a connection
4. The venue will look at your online profile

notice

Informal agreements can be made before April 23.
You may contact venues anytime.

At this point, a venue will make a decision whether or not to host your work. (It may take a while for certain venues to decide.) If the venue is interested, expect to be contacted about a Hosting Agreement. What's this?

When you secure a venue, you are entered into the ArtPrize competition. There is not a guarantee that all registered artists will secure a venue.

You must secure a venue by 5:00 p.m. EDT, June 14, 2012
