Larry Moss
Artist bio: Airigami, the art of folding air in latex containers, stands at the crossroads of three very ancient art forms: sculpture, puppetry and origami.

Artist Larry Moss uses airigami to create original works of art, installations and experiences that range from the ridiculous to the sublime. The nature of his medium (latex + air) lends itself to constant reinventions, adaptation and expansion. Larry is a master sculptor and craftsman who has been featured on television and film, in major newspapers and magazines, and in the Guinness Book Of World Records. (Some media highlights include Martha Stewart, Ripley's Believe it or Not!, Smithsonian Magazine, PBS Assignment the World, CNN Headline News)

Larry’s full blown installations enchant young and old, and whether it is a Haunted House, Santa’s Workshop, a recreation of the first Thanksgiving or an interactive Hall of Presidents, they bring people together in the way that only the best public art installations can.
Artist statement: My goal is to create art in innovative and interesting ways as both a creative expression and as a teaching/performance tool. Focusing on a material that most people view as a toy, I feel I am making art accessible to a wider range of people in a very playful manner.

What makes my art most unique is the nature of balloons. Rather than take away from the magic of a transient art form simply by fixing it permanently through photography, I’ve chosen to enhance it through the use of digital tools, creating pieces that can’t exist as standalone latex and air sculptures.

My current work is about studying and interpreting art that has become iconic and presenting it in my own unique way, as well as creating public art that is not just for the public, but incorporates the public in its creation.
