Description of work: The Aerial, while a site-specific sculpture, invites viewers to dream up their own habitats for self-contemplation, discipline and spiritual repose. Depending on what viewers add or subtract to the framework, the ideal space could be a natural landscape, long-lost or future homeland, or an amalgam of sites both real and imaginary. The Aerial is made of clear PVC tubes and wire, materials that with their malleable, transparent, and commonplace qualities can accommodate many different concepts of place. |
