Lisa J. Visbeen-Lehmann
Artist bio: Lisa J Lehmann is a Grand Rapids based jewelry artist. Graduating from Calvin College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, her emphasis was illustration and photography, but since then has fallen in love with METAL. The first year she opened her jewelry studio, she was accepted into the Ann Arbor Art Fair, where her work was widely accepted.

She counts it a privilege to have been gifted with a creative spirit. Viewing God as the ultimate Artist, she finds herself awed and inspired by his handiwork each and everyday. Lisa seeks beauty in all things and appreciates the endless potential of blending color, shape and texture.

Honored to be commissioned to create designs for the traveling museum exhibit of "Petra-Lost City of Stone", Lisa's designs were showcased internationally. As a working artist, Lisa's jewelry is currently displayed and sold in museum gift shops, galleries, and boutiques.
Artist statement: “Art is my passion. It is who I am. I create, because I cannot help myself.

I love the limitless possibilities available to me when I work with metal. To see something dull, lifeless and shapeless take form into something beautiful and wearable is incredible. I am able to leave an imprint in an organic way...to physically translate what I "see" into the medium. The metal is easily manipulated by stamping, forging, heating, adding texture and depth. I love the juxtaposition of mixed metals, and the colorful accent of gemstones.

My work is very soft & fluid. I enjoy intricate, delicate, subtle forms which impart a refined femininity. Meticulously handcrafted using the finest materials, each piece is designed to enhance the natural beauty and elegance of the metal and stones."
