Born and raised near Boston, MA, Andy Behrle spent his childhood with the best of both worlds – access to a metropolis filled with culture and history and an ocean-side playground to explore. Educated in Philosophy & Religion at Elmira College in Elmira, NY, Behrle began to dream about the sublime. Enamored by sculpture, Behrle's early creations helped him navigate the depths of existential thoughts and communicate ideas in ways that words would not allow. Combining his interests in natural phenomena, the spiritual, and the language of objects, Behrle pursued and received a Master of Fine Arts at Arizona State University in 2003. Today, Behrle finds himself in Birmingham, AL constructing time-based installations. Behrle's architectural works explore the temporariness of man's fingerprints on the landscape and the cycles of nature. Other works project light through moving of water - filling space with rousing optical events of waves and geometry dancing across time.
