Seasons-Journey of a Cancer Survivor

Amber Jackson's avatar Amber Jackson

My name is Amber Jackson, and I have been a chemotherapy nurse for 8 years. In that time, I have experienced many emotions while being a part of hundreds of patient's journeys through Cancer. I am often asked, "How do you do it, how can you stand to keep doing your job." This collection of photographs is the best way I can explain why I stay. In fact, it explains why I LOVE my job. This collection started when one of my patients finished chemotherapy. I took a portrait of her in front of the same tree through four seasons. The goal was that I would be able to convey the HOPE that I encounter on a daily basis. That I could show the light at the end of the tunnel for people experiencing this, or who love someone experiencing this battle. I want this project to touch people, the way that I am touched every day.
