ArtPrize is a social experiment

ArtPrize® is an international art competition and social experiment where anyone can be an artist, any space can be a venue and everyone has a voice.

International Art Competition:

In 2011 artists from 39 countries participated in ArtPrize. In addition to artists, curators, jurors, speakers, educators, press, critics and visitors from all over the world flood Grand Rapids, Mi to participate in awarding the worlds largest prize for art.

For 2012

• Venues Register from March 12 to April 12
• Artists Register April 23 – May 24
• Artists and Venues connect: April 23 – June 14

The event itself lasts 19 Days.

Social Experiment:

While the ArtPrize event turns four this year, it is and always will be an experiment. With few rules, ArtPrize generates wild and unpredictable results.

The platform accelerates the creative exchange of ideas by providing a simple framework for action. If an artist has an idea and a venue can put it on display, action happens. They decide. As the entries are judged both by public vote and an internationally regarded group of arts professionals, a massive conversation erupts.
