Justin Palermo combines performance, objects, drawings and artifacts against a background of specific history mixed with blind spots. Reminiscent of an archaeologist or a collector, the artist creates an enigmatic mood that investigates the different notions of personal and collective dreams. After receiving a BFA in drawing and a BA in History of Art from the University of Michigan, Justin has spent time living and working in San Francisco, Sevilla, Spain and presently Berlin, Germany. He has exhibited his work in such venues as The Crocker Art Museum Sacramento, The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, The Asian Art Museum San Francisco, The San Francisco Art Institute, Japonesque Gallery, Galerie Isabella Czarnowka, Uferhallen Berlin, F40 English Theater and Tacheles among others. Palermo is presently working with Theater Thikwa; a collective of 30 disabled artists who create Theater, Dance and Visual Art Exhibitions in Berlin, Germany.
