God's Kitchen
Venue description
God’s Kitchen, a program of Catholic Charities West Michigan, is located in the Heartside Neighborhood of Grand Rapids. We are directly across the street from Cathedral Square, a 2010 Artprize Exhibition Center.
God's Kitchen is dedicated to serving the homeless and hungry with dignity and respect. In this location, we serve an afternoon meal, 7 days a week, to some of the areas most materially poor men and women.
We have 35 linear feet of wall space for a painting or mural as well as 84 square feet of space near our front window for a sculpture or installation.
Venue statement
God’s Kitchen is supportive of the Heartside Art District and is excited to be a part of Artprize again this year! We plan to host community bowl painting events during Artprize which will support our 2011 Soups On For All! fundraiser. Each event guest takes home a hand-painted bowl as a visual reminder that hunger happens every day.

Floor Plan(s)
Floor plan notes:
We would love to find an artist to make use of our windows for their piece! We are also able to accomodate at least 20 (hopefully more!) artists to display on our walls and we have space for an indoor installation or sculpture!
