About the work
Title: Copacabana Wave

Art form: 3-D

Medium: polyester mixed media and aluminum

Year created: 2010

Description of work: This is a model made in bronze, in a smaller size, I’m working now on the artwork for Artprize, same piece in a bigger size and different materials.

Medium: Polyester mixed media + aluminium, all painted
Size: height 5'
Length 7.5'
Depth 4.5'
Weight: 440 pounds

Suitable for inside and outside, can stand any weather.

I have a whole line of Waves in my collection, in bronze and different “shelf” sizes. After visiting the Rio de Janeiro beautiful Copacabana Beach last summer I was in such awe watching those huge and magnificent waves, the idea of a real size enlarging came up. There was something else very particular about the Copacabana Beach which subconsciously crept into this piece, I’ll let you guess this.
