Bridgette Bogle was born in 1977 a small town in southeastern New Mexico; 30 years after the space aliens landed in Roswell and caused such a ruckus. She received her BFA in 2000 at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and spent time living in Glasgow, Scotland and Anchorage, Alaska before making her way to the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 2001. In the summer of 2003, Bogle received her MFA from Ohio State in painting and drawing. Since 2005 she has been teaching painting and drawing at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. In 2006, she received a full-time position at Sinclair and she packed up and made the move to Dayton. Bogle continues to work in the studio and recently had a solo show of her Candy Store paintings – based on the overwhelming nature of consumer choice - at the Dayton Visual Arts Center. She spends her time thinking about Matisse, possible permutations of a hot pink and the botanical pattern on her studio couch.
