Bridgette Bogle was born in Roswell, New Mexico in 1977; thirty years after the space aliens crashed there and caused such a ruckus. Moving to Ohio in 2001, Bridgette was swallowed up by the institution known as the Ohio State University where she received her MFA in painting and drawing in 2003. Bogle has participated in numerous solo, two person and group exhibitions around the Ohio region. In 2005, with Domestic Bliss at the Ohio Art League Gallery she displayed murals influenced by toilet paper patterns. In 2009, her Candy Store Grid at Dayton Visual Art Center consisted of a room full of 135 small paintings inspired by consumer culture. A selection from Candy Store Grid has been permanently installed at the Dayton Children’s Medical Center. Bogle was also selected alongside her husband Francis Schanberger as Yeck Artists-in-Residence at the Dayton Art Institute Experience Center for their collaborative exhibition, Full Circle: Tales of Transformation. Currently, Bogle is an Assistant Professor in the Painting and Drawing area at Sinclair Community College in Dayton and she spends her studio time contemplating fluorescent oil paint, Matisse and directions in abstract painting.
