Makom ("Place")

Marsha Plafkin's avatar Marsha Plafkin

This 2-D entry will be created at the venue during ArtPrize. Hosts will provide indoor mural wall space, art supplies, programming support for related educational activity, and host a reception. The title is selected because the Hebrew word 'makom' is used in rabbinic literature as a name for God: Ha'Makom (The Place). This work will explore the place-ness of divinity, and divinity as inhabitable space. Select Hebrew texts will accompany this work (projected on walls and/or chanted aloud in traditional trope at various times).
