Endangered: Creation of Highly Ichneumous Lambdoid in Lageniform

Tropical plants, painted into four small recycled plastic pieces. Within the paintings are spots, utilizing thermochromic pigments that turn clear with body temperature contact. When encouraged to touch the paintings, the viewer may expect to discover endangered animals yet the unexpected will be revealed through the thermochromic pigments. Instead of finding endangered species within the Amazon forest they will discover images of obsolete yet memorable Furby toys. Through my piece I encourage people to simply CHILL. The obvious is not always the answer. The long and confusing subtitle means nothing. Each letter of the alphabet of each word forms the acronym CHILL. I simply googled obscure words that begin with those letters. While my piece is of an environmental nature, my intent is to not be in my viewers face. It is to imply that positive change can be small, quiet and unexpected. Often, it is enough to just…CHILL.
