I Found the Place

When I moved to Michigan back in 2014 I found the place... The place where my heart is happy and my soul belongs. Here I've found peace, space, love, and wonderful people who have encouraged me to pursue my art as my full time profession leading to the launch of my business Tinygami two years ago. This year's entry will share my personal journey in three parts. 1000 miniature origami koi goldfish will symbolize the perseverance it took to move to the Midwest, leaving behind almost everything, everywhere, and everyone I know. 1000 tiny cranes, hand painted to look like Michigan's own Sandhill Cranes symbolize the state itself. They, particularly the pair that live in the marsh behind my studio, represent that the cranes were a sign (almost upon my arrival) that I was meant to be here. 1000 Butterflies represent love. The love of being here, the beauty of nature, the wonderful people I've met, and that I found the person I was meant to love by taking the chance and moving here.
