"Japanese Gardens"

This oil painting is a scene of the Japanese Gardens inside the Fredrick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture park here in Grand Rapids. The values, tones, colors and mirrored images in the water, led me to capture the moment on canvas. I could not wait to begin sketching the outlines and subsequent colored brush strokes on the canvas. This is amazing to see how intricately each rock and plant was formed by the Creators hand, creating a symphony of colors bursting forth holding the viewer captive in silence. It was also wonderful to see the gifts given to, and coordinated by the landscape artist. Of whom placed the rocks, and vegetation in such a way that resonated harmony and balance. Each time I enter the studio to continue it's soon completion, the scene draws me deeper into its story. The story of how God's invisible nature can be clearly seen by the things He has made. Romans 1:20 Take time out, be still from our busy lives, be awed by the beauty surrounding us all. Randy
