Treasures from Grandma's Attic

I have always been interested in hand-crafted work, whether it be sewing, knitting, embroidery or crochet. I also love the look of ceramics and pottery, either modern or from the "olden days". I have chosen to paint many still lifes with these lovely pieces as my "center of interest". My hope is to bring to the viewer the same feeling of pleasure and nostalgia when they see these paintings as I feel when I am painting them. I have become somewhat known around the Grand Rapids art world, as the "painter of Doilies". People seem to expect every painting I do to include some sort of doily! My entry consists of a group of pastel paintings of pottery and doilies. Each painting measures 10inches x 14 inches and is matted and framed in a 16inch by 20inchblack frame. If space is limited, either two paintings, or just one painting could become the entire entry. This would be the curator's choice
