Wrapped in Instinct Triptych, part of a photographic and video series titled Clare-Voyance, examines a Jungian understanding of anima locus – the relation between the psychic essence of a place and inner perceptions. Through explorations of Aillwee Cave in County Clare, Ireland, I observed how bats and moths residing there convey myths of transformation for myself. Wrapped in Instinct Triptych depicts my call to journey as an archetypal bat: exploring inner darkness, letting go, encountering the unknown, and slow transformation of psychic content from the unconscious.
