Here Be Dragons

Please note, these are not the finished pieces and are very much works in progress. The pieces will all be completed by the time ArtPrize begins in September. Dragons! Elegant or brutish, malevolent or benign, monstrous or cute. So many different types and kinds for an artist to explore. This series represents a few of my personal ideas about what these creatures are like. The first piece pictured is of a cunning, trickster type dragon. He is not to be trusted! This piece measures 18 in. from nose to the tips of the horns and will have a wooden display base. The second dragon is a full figure piece that represents the graceful lines and elegance of winged creatures in a natural setting. I might be adding smaller dragon climbing up the stump if time permits. The third dragon is a small scale bust that was inspired by our dog. Cute and playful and a bit silly looking! I will be finishing up at least the three pictured and possibly a fourth, large scale display head as well.
