…”And They Take On The Dreams Of The Ones Who’ve Slept There”, is the culmination of a couple events. The middle canvas, originally called “Everybody is behaving like dogs” is from a collage I did back in 2011, Inspired by magazine clippings found trashed after a lesson on using collage to make portraits. The three different types of paper inspired using three different painting techniques, but it never felt “finished” after completing it in 2014. “Everybody Is behaving Like Dogs” and my study of ”Bordello #4“ by Vee Speers were exhibited together for a local show. Afterword I felt they had an affinity for each and I couldn't look at one without the other, but they didn’t flow together. So I tore the canvas down the middle, placing each half on either side of “Everybody is behaving like dogs”. All three canvases were reworked and I changed the title to ”And They Take On The Dreams Of The Ones Who’ve Slept there”. Both of my titles, are lyrics from “9th And Hennepin” by Tom Waits.
