"End All Be All" is the final piece made for my thesis exhibition that that talks about the emotional struggles that arise from the different personalities of my fiance and I. “Living with a Pessimist” is an exhibition that explores borders between private vs. public moments and situations between the artist and her partner. Once placed into the public realm this visual expression of feelings reference the imbalanced intimacy and psychological stress portrayed that can often be experienced between two individuals who find themselves in a long term relationship. The overlapping limbs, facial expressions and color palette are intended to support the form, association, tension, and mindset of the subjects. The artist reoccurring eye contact with the view pull them into the private space and give a hierarchy of emotions in the relationship. The artist is always the one engaging with the viewer through eye contact to create an emotional bond.
