RCMS: Art & the Core/World Cultures Vote Code: 65707

After we explore the histories and cultures of mandalas, our students will create a large mosaic mandala out of stained glass fragments. We will have each child in both of our classes create a small mandala on a small piece of Plexiglas. These will be joined together in a quilt-like formation, framed in wood, and back-lit with LED lights. This project would start immediately with the beginning of our 2017-2018 school year on August 28th, and be complete mid-September.

About RCMS: Art & the Core/World Cultures

Our team is comprised of two Reed City Middle School exploratory classes: Art & the Core and World Cultures. Art & the Core students explore art throughout history, and create structures while utilizing mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, and technology. Word Cultures students explore contemporary cultures throughout the world through many venues, including art, in order to create tolerance and understanding. Our students range from 12 to 14 years of age.
