Shakotan Coast. A gorgeous garden under the sky. A carpet of flowers, the aroma is almost intoxicating. Little secrets are buried under palm trees. There are also predators, plunderers, peeping toms, and other violent elements jointly built into this mysterious palace of thoughts and feelings. Together they form a hotbed of love and conspiracy. A curtain pulled back in the corner reveals it is a stage all these magical interactions occur on. It is a microcosm of the human civilization. The zebra and tigress engage in the most ancient of all dances. Seeking the harmony of pure love and emotion while balancing the weight of societal interference. These human constructs so often unnaturally interwoven into the natural fabric of existence. The vibrant and gorgeous color cannot hide the instinctual need and desire. The surreal scene seems to reverse common sense, but actually it is a honest recording of our magical society. The topic I focus on is the confusion and hesitation of human nature. In my pieces these thoughts are hidden. On the surface, plants are breathtaking, animals are innocent and adorable, but there are in fact hidden crises. I carefully choreograph these into my paintings. In my opinion, drawing is like exploring a game. Creating a visual narration where every time you look your eye catches something in new light. To me, this is the charm of painting.
