Triptych #6

I'm creating works which impart so much information from the artist when connected they cease to have individual identities and become an expression of his idiosyncrasies and creative tendencies. By producing triptychs composed of three different genres of art a purely abstract piece, an improvised surreal piece, and a piece based on observable reality, I'm creating works conceived through the expression of a paradox. The paradox being “do the works belong together.” On one hand, each piece is created independently and does not need to be part of a larger whole. However, by attaching the unrelated works blatantly, this allows the viewer to see the artist's natural and subconscious idiosyncrasies. This enhances the viewer's ability to see the similarities especially in the use of composition by removing what is normally used to make connections like the subject matter. Endowing the triptych with an open-ended implication of meaning that changes dramatically between observers.
