The balance between life and death is a frail, thin line that all things defined as "living" must carefully travel upon. The lines in these images will take the viewer through the hint of a story once filled with vibrant colors and delicate petals, but finalized with the return to earth through fire. Fire offers the promise of both destruction and renewal. The subjects, through their own destruction, are given the opportunity for regrowth just as these images were captured and now, in their own partial destruction, can live on. These are a series of five macro photography prints, painted with fire. As part of the process, the images are set on fire and the flames quickly extinguished before they are floated between two sheets of 24"x36" glass. The images are framed in barn wood.
