Struggle and Release

Artist Statement: After recently doing a deep soul search and finding contentment in my life, I am presenting "Struggle and Release" as my first toe dip into ArtPrize. Imagery representing a fish being caught on a hook, bondage constraints, pain leading to ultimate pleasure; "Struggle and Release" is an allegory on how sometimes the more pain we experience the better the resulting life can feel. Living life to it's fullest after being constrained has felt like breathing for the first time. There was a struggle in finding myself, pulling from an unlikely addiction to be able to see me again. Mental anguish and pain led to the joy and contentment that I am living now. I am continuing to fight an addiction to other peoples happiness and am finding release and pleasure in my own happiness every day. Created and presented in a similar style is 'Miss Mysty: Professional Clown" Spray paint, gesso, decoupage, and oil painting.
