Orinoco

In this watercolor, I tried to capture the feeling of a hamlet "far off and lonely" as the Spanish poet García Lorca once wrote. But I also wanted it to be innocent, idyllic and dreamlike, having not been touched by the modern world. The village in the painting is a composite of several I have visited in Egypt, India and Latin America.
