Our piece titled “Unmasking Brain Injury” is part of a national project to spread the word on the prevalence of brain injury. Twenty-eight artists, all who live with the effects of brain injury, decorated the life-size masks that are incorporated in this piece. Each artist considered how to express, through the decorating of the mask, their own story of how brain injury has affected them or how they have triumphed over brain injury. The uniqueness of each mask and the story it tells is what makes this project so meaningful.
