A field of artwork is growing in the Meijer Sculpture Gardens during ArtPrize. The Father/Son team of Aquinas College art professor Kurt Kaiser and New York City artist John Cloud Kaiser are getting almost 100 of their neighbors, friends, the other community members of all ages and walks of life to help construct over 100 sculptural bundles that reference corn stalks but are made of a wide variety of materials- from plastic strips, to natural fibers, to paper scraps and more. Members of the general public were invited to create many of these bundles, leading to an installation that references the farm fields of our past, the Grand Rapids of the present, and our synthetic future.
