This series, "de - con - struct" refers to "reducing something to its inner core in order to reinterpret." Personally impacted by the destruction of the flood of 2014 in southeastern Michigan, I eventually began dismantling my ruined technology equipment. Examining their inner parts, I discovered tiny, delicate, beautifully designed & engineered core components made with platinum, gold, silver and copper elements. I've always been "wired" to repurpose & recycle, so I began collecting & photographing each like a treasure or fine jewelry. Enlarging, printing & fusing the images to 30" x 36" panels of glass gives the viewer the opportunity to "see" and re-evaluate their preconceptions. In sharing them here, I have also given them a new usefulness and a second life.
