Latin Squared Square

The Latin Squared Square is a combination of two combinatorial objects constructed from Lego bricks. The main structure evident is a simple perfect squared square, which is a square made up of smaller squares each of different sizes. Each smaller square is a Latin square. A Latin square is a square grid in which every cell is a certain color (or shape or number) and every row and every column contains each color exactly once (think Sudoku). Some of the squares go beyond representing a single Latin square and represent sets of mutually orthogonal Latin squares, so that when two such squares are superimposed on top of each other, every possible ordered pair of colors appears exactly once. There is much more to the structure than can be described here and the viewer is invited to discover more patterns for themselves.
