From The Sun

Drawn to the marriage between our built world and that of the natural world, I try to bring this into my work. I have always felt pulled towards this fusion of man and nature within architecture and its place within our lives. I see my work as a part of an atmosphere. It is just a part of many pieces that bring together an environment. ‘From The Sun’ was created with the intention to bring sunlight through the painting as a stained glass window would sparkle its light into a room. It has a decorative and architectural feel. This feeling of being built, of being created. Opposing this is the simultaneously fluid nature of the piece, the body of spirit flowing through the piece. The Winged woman at the center is ourself, with our dualities behind, always with us. We are often within this world struggling with our nature, and how we believe we should build ourselves to be. We are that combination of the built, the created, and that mystical nature that flows through us, that nature that can’t be created, it just is.
