Picasso Wins ArtPrize 7

"Picasso Wins ArtPrize 7" is an oil painting on panel and measures 77 x 77cm and is presented in an antique gold-leaf wood frame from 1903 which once housed a Mathias Alten farm scene which hung in the Grand Rapids Art Museum's 2nd floor Alten display in the Old Federal Building. The frame compliments my entry (which is based on a Picasso self-portrait from 1907) wonderfully and makes for a stunning presentation. Some may consider my picture a "forgery" but I call it a tribute to the master of Modern Art and wanted to include the "People's Choice" pin, displayed proudly on his lapel. At 77cm (30.3") square, this piece is substantial, but not imposing, appropriate for the subject presented.
