I am so grateful to be able to share my passion for oiI painting for the first time at art prize! My entry includes 3 large 4ft x 7ft canvases: an Elephant, Rhino, and a Lion. They are inspired by a time of my life when I lived in Africa, and are in process and will be complete soon. I am so enthralled by animals, and the connection they have to different relationships in my life. For example, elephants exhibit such a desire for loyalty and commitment, and when I paint an elephant I reflect on how they stand for what I believe is so beautiful about marriage and friendship. The elephant symbolizes my parents and may marraige relationship--one of loyalty and commitment. The Rhino, a fighter, celebrates how you must fight for each other and constantly pursue loving each other no matter what. The lion: my relationship with God. Also, how can you not like animals, I mean have you ever seen a chimps butt or a monkey throw poop?
