Bluer Skies Down the Road

Tropical Rock -- "Bluer Skies Down the Road" As I was driving south to a gig in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, I received a call from a client in Virginia Beach, Virginia who enticed me to swing by and pick up an extra gig. He had described his venue as "right on my way" to Myrtle Beach. Well, it really wasn't, and I never saw a beach . . . or an ocean. In fact, everywhere I went everything was named 'tidewater'. I played it with a smile, and two days later arrived in Myrtle Beach. Wow! An amazing beach! We had a great gig right on the ocean! That night as I was walking the beach, I came upon a girl sitting on a rock crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she just smiled through the tears and said, “I always cry when I see the ocean. The ocean is my core.” These pieces of “life,” that I pick up all along my travels, often come out in my music.
